Trans Icon Portraits
This project was led by a student assistant on the Student Affairs Communications team named Noah. He wanted to do a post highlighting Transgender icons during Pride month, including Marsha P. Johnson and trans leaders. He led the research but reached out to me to help with visuals.
I was very excited to help with this project and their portraits. I started by hand drawing first and creating outlines. Then, I used Illustrator and Photoshop to “paint” them. I wanted to ensure I had a vibrant color palette while being authentic to the figures’ skin tones. I'm proud of how these portraits turned out and I enjoyed learning more about these marvelous people.
